A Runway for the Bride

Yes, you read that correctly - not a runaway bride, a runway for the bride! I recently attended an amazing wedding weekend of two dear college friends. The bride and groom are both very classy and stylish people and their creative ideas along with their decorator Suhaag Garden’s created a romantic theme throughout their wedding weekend.

The best thing I took away was the idea of a raised wedding aisle so the bride can be seen by all as she walks down the aisle. A runway of sorts, it met straight with the mandap stage and gave everyone the perfect view and chance to snap a shot of the beautiful bride alongside her grandfather as she approached her husband to be!

Take a breath…here is the raised aisle and mandap from Shiwani and Vrushak’s wedding created by Suhaag Garden..

….And a different look from a wedding of another friend, Dharmini and Alok, who shared the inspiration and idea of an elevated aisle!

OK we were on a break for a while traveling and attending a few weddings and bridal showers, but we are back! After taking a few trips, of course we’re thinking about what vacations we have planned next, and our 4th of July Paradise Island, Bahamas trip cannot get here soon enough! Hubs and I are staying at the Atlantis resort and were asking a one of our close and favorite Aunty’s for a few tips. Knowing about my wedding blog, she sent me info on Pyaar Atlantis.

This is pretty amazing. Complete with an Indian wedding coordinator (Gigi Mukherjee) and a set of destination wedding planning options and packages created for South Asian or Indian-inspired weddings, Atlantis is an even more unique destination wedding resort! It can’t get any easier for that couple looking for a beautiful getaway for their guests. If you haven’t been to the Atlantis before, it’s an amazing spot for adults and kids with awesome beaches and tons of activities including a water park, an awesome aquarium, casinos, and fantastic restaurants.

Pyaar Atlantis offers several packages with different types of Mandap and decor designs, statues of deities and malas, as well as features like day-of coordinators, hair and makeup artists, priests and round-trip transportation. The Atlantis also offers in-house Indian catering. This seems like such a great option for the busy bride to be who wants a bit of island flair while keeping the tradition of a Desi wedding.

Here’s hoping there’s an Indian wedding going on during the 4th of July =)

It’s Memorial Day Weekend - a ton of weddings happening, and the kickoff to a summer of weddings!
If you’re off to a wedding this weekend, think about all that goes into it and how much effort brides, grooms, their families and vendors take to make the event memorable. It’s so awesome to have a vendor who can create the exact look you dreamed for. Love that NJ-based decor team Elegant Affairs can help draw out a vision and create the perfect wedding mandap, like the one above.
Hope you have a great long weekend - as for me, I’m skipping the weddings to attend my darling niece’s first birthday, and then off to a wedding next weekend!
